Responsibility

I was thinking about something while I was studying for the Sunday school lesson this morning. The Sunday School lesson took me to the portion of scripture of Jesus rebuking the Pharisees for not taking care of their parents under the guise works for God.

I thought about how sometimes ministers have a tendency to use the ministry as an excuse for shirking responsibilities. We should never do that. It gives a bad name for Christians, and especially ministers, when we do that. If we have a job, we should be working that job. If we have a responsibility to our family, we need to live up to that responsibility. If we owe a bill, we need to pay that bill. The ministry is never an excuse to get out of your responsibilities.
