Josiah started his rule with an odd occurrence. They discovered the Torah in the Temple. It broke the king’s heart when they read it to him. The sins of the people over their history. Josiah prayed and repented.
Here is something we all need to consider though. His son, Jehoakim, was confronted with the prophecies of Jeremiah. His response was to have the scroll cut up and burned.
Folks, godly parents will not make you godly. Godliness is not hereditary. You can be worthless and have parents of gold.
