“Just a teaspoonful Lord, just a teaspoonful”
The old saint moaned from her lone bed
Her sanity fled as the pain bleed peace from her head
“Just a teaspoonful of mercy Lord to ease this pain”
Somewhere on high, in the throne room of God
A teaspoonful of mercy starting falling to earth
While a long painful pause lingered
And the last drop of peace oozed from the saint’s head
The drop finally hit its mark
It kissed that weathered brow
That had just been insane with pain unfeigned.
That teaspoonful of mercy blossomed into a river of Glory
As the old saint laid her head on the shoulder of the Lamb
Peace, peace, wonderful peace, coming down from the Father above
Sweep over my spirit forever I pray
In fathomless teaspoons of love
